The Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that uses community-led approaches to reduce rural poverty, with a particular focus on children. Since the inception of its programs in 2004, COAF has funded and implemented education, health, social, and economic development programs serving more than 25,000 people in rural villages of Armenia. Each person impacted represents one of the more than one billion people living in poverty, and the methods used in Armenia can be replicated in other communities, where children are most vulnerable. Patrice McNicoll, MLV’s CEO, is an active contributing member to the COAF organization.

Brent Lewis, one of the founding partners of MLV, and his family spent several weeks in South Sudan in 2011 placing 5kW of solar power at the Lora and Morobo Orphanages, the Nehemiah School and the Christian Leadership Center - all locations with no power previously. South Sudan’s recent history has been very sad with more than 2.5 million people killed, and more than 5 million externally displaced while many others have been internally displaced, becoming refugees as a result of Sudan’s brutal civil war and war related impacts.
